I've been wanting to make Kylie a pillowcase dress for a couple of weeks and I finally got around to it! I went to the only place in town that sells fabric....walmart...ugh and picked out the best they had. I paid $3.49 for the material and I have enough to make my niece a dress too! I didn't follow a pattern so it took me a little bit to figure out the arm holes. It took me about 45 minutes to make it.

When Josh came home from work I said "look at the dress I bought Kylie." He gave his usual glance and I could see what he was saying in his head "that's all she does is spend money." I quickly said "just kidding, I MADE IT!" All of the sudden he was interested in the dress and said what I great job I did:) I'm very excited to get some cute fabric and make another.

I'm also looking for cute fabric to make Ky some cute little shorts with a ruffle. This is very ambitious for me since I'm just a amateur sewer. I only know what I know from watching my mom when I was a kid. Hopefully I'll get around to making those soon!

Time for a good deal!

I had an awesome trip to Target today and I just had to share! I paid $47 for what was originally $123. All you moms that buy diapers and wipes, go ahead and wipe your mouth and pick up your jaw. The diapers and wipes alone would have cost over $52. I have to say I have serious brand loyalty when it comes to diapers and wipes. Nothing compares to huggies but when you can get pampers for 40 cents, why not? I'll use them as a face wipe. I also got 6 John Frieda root awakening shampoo and conditioner, 4 Eggo's, infant ibuprofen, 8 bounty paper towels and other random stuff (what would a trip to target be without junk from the dollar bin?). If you live on a budget like most of us do and don't "coupon".....your insane!!! Go here to get all the info on serious couponing.

Wordless Wednesday???

Yes, I know it's Thursday. I have to admit most days I have no clue what day of the week it is and don't ever ask me the date because I have no clue! Anyways, I have been wanting to start this wordless Wednesday thing where I just post pictures and no writing. For some reason the last two Wednesdays have been crazy and I didn't get to do it. So today your getting Wordless Wednesday on Thursday with words:)

Happy 1/2 birthday Bryce Daniel!

My baby boy is 6 months old today. I can't believe how time flies with the second baby. I'm trying to savor every minute of it just in case Josh cuts me off on baby making:)

Welcome to my first, look what I did! I love, love, love personalized anything. When I was pregnant with Bryce I made tons of onsies and burp cloths with applique B's on them, like they sell on Etsy. Anyone who knows me knows I'd much rather make something myself than buy it. Target has really cute plain t-shirts right now. I got some polka dot ribbon from hobby lobby and voila a super cute shirt that is ready for monogramming! Here is the final product:

A visit from Virginia

We had a short visit from my friend Spring and her little girl Amryn. They live in Big Stone Gap Virginia also known as the the butt hole of the earth...hahaha. That's what she calls it and let me tell you I went to visit her in March and it kinda is! There is only one thing Spring loves more than Florida and that's me so I find that all the reason for her to move here:)

We had so much fun at the beach with the girls. We went to the beach in St. Augustine with my mom, sister and niece Addison one day and then let the girls run in the nude after dinner one night. Amryn is 6 months younger than Kylie but is super tiny. Kylie is still battling her inner bully and Amryn was such a sport.

My only regret from their trip is that I didn't get a picture of Springs botched sunscreen application, it was classic.

Todays picks

Kylie and I went to check out the garden this afternoon and got a little surprise! We had cucumbers that were HUGE! We were so busy all weekend that we never even looked at the garden. Today we picked one cucumber, one sweet pepper, one green pepper and lots of banana peppers. I have a new found love for wickles banana peppers thanks to my sister in law and I'm planning on cutting up my banana peppers and putting them in the wickles juice!

Seriously, is this even a cucumber? It's huge and funny shaped, I can't wait to pick this one!Bryce was the first to taste test the cucumber and it looks like he enjoyed it!
